CROSSPOOL FC

ABOUT US

Established in 1975, Crosspool Football Club (CFC) has been promoting football across all junior age groups for over 40 years. It is a well-respected community based club involved in both boys and girls football in the west of Sheffield.

The club has achieved Charter Standard status and is currently in the process of applying for Charter Standard Development club status. The FA Charter Standard recognises high standards in club and league football for those clubs able to provide excellent standards of child safety and protection. The club must have a trained Welfare Officer in place, ensure coaches are educated to FA Level 1 for each team, sign up to the FA Respect Programme and have appropriate club administration in place. CFC see football as part of the community, offering an established pathway to sporting skills and benefits to all our young participants. We have successfully applied for two FA Grow the Game grants which have been used to fund the growth of the club within the last few years. We are committed to expanding as a club and offering opportunities to enjoy the game of football to more young participants including a disability team in the future.

We encourage involvement from local community groups, schools and parents within the guidelines and parameters set by the FA Respect programme. We have a number of students that are currently involved in coaching at the club, gaining real-life experience in coaching local children. We also have a number of productive partnerships in place that will improve the club going forward. We currently have links with HSBC Sports Club, Hallam Football Club, Hallam Cricket Club, Crosspool and District Youth Sports Trust and have representatives from the FA and Sheffield City Council that are involved in the club.

Two of our teams are the proud owners of the Divisional Fair Play Awards 2018/19.  This award recognises fair play from players, spectators and coaches and is a reflection of the efforts that have been made by the club.

We like to see our players with a smile on their faces, relishing their football in a no-pressure environment.  We are also a club that competes at a good level across all of the age groups. Quite a few of our ex-players have gone on to have successful careers in football and, more importantly, many lifelong friendships have been established through playing for Crosspool FC.

We encourage parent participation within the guidelines of the FA Respect programme and welcome you to get involved in our club at all levels.
